“I’m sick of him!” Sirius sighed exasperatedly, slamming a white envelope with a broken red wax seal down on the table and flopping angrily into the seat next to Remus.

“I beg your pardon?” Remus asked, picking up the envelope and seeing Regulus’s neat print on the front “What did he do this time?”

Sirius glared at him, arms folded across his chest like a stropping child. He grabbed the letter from Remus’s hands harshly, pulling out the scroll and unfurling it with a flourish. It appeared Sirius Black simply had to be dramatic even when he was utterly irate, he couldn’t escape it. It was his nature.

“Dearest Brother” Sirius began to read aloud, imitating Regulus’s slightly more pronounced French accent than his own “I have recently been told that you have decided to start dating Remus lupin, my best friend. This is truly unacceptable in my eyes, I cannot stand this betrayal. So I have decided to follow in your footsteps. Being told that you’re “the boss of me” and to “emulate your example” was something I had to listen to a few too many times as a child, and I fear it has somehow worn in. This time, I choose to emulate your example, and start shagging your best friend. You truly are a fabulous teacher in the art of being petty Sirius.

I bet Christmas at the potters will be far more interesting than usual now.

It had started out alright, considering. The topic of James and Regulus' relationship was still uncharted territory for the two best friends, both of them stubborn and fiercely protective of each other.

"Regulus is kind, he's thoughtful-" James pleads.

"Ha! You're lucky my little brother so much as looks in your direction, the self-absorbed prat!" Sirius retaliates, poison in his words.

"Lucky? It wasn't luck, Sirius. What me and Reg have has been years in the making, you're just too busy with your own soppy love story you haven't thought to take your head out of your arse and notice." Ouch.

Remus watches from a seat in the corner, occasionally looking up from his book to make sure that neither had the other in a headlock. He knows better than to take James' comment personally. Peter has resigned himself to doing homework silently in the corner, also understanding how pointless it would be to try get between them.

"What the fuck is going on in here?" A cold voice covers the room. Regulus, the man of the hour, clearly unimpressed.

"They're arguing about you. Again." Peter offers.

James and Sirius stand across from each other, glaring silently, arms crossed. Regulus groans, still standing in the doorway.

"Merlin's beard, you fight like little girls. I've seen first years with more maturity. Sirius, me and James are together. Deal with it. And you," he whips his head to look at his boyfriend who's sulking like a toddler.

"You were supposed to meet me in the astronomy tower ten minutes ago." James eyes go wide. He's been so caught up in proving the validity of his relationship he must have lost track of time. "So if we're quite done..."

James rushes forward to give a quick hug to Sirius, whispering something that sounds like an apology, slightly jogging to trail behind Regulus who has already began to depart back to the astronomy tower.

Sirius looks bewildered, half-stepping towards the door to follow them out, not satisfied with the outcome of the argument.

"Come on, Pads, leave it alone. Poor Prongs is obviously head-over-heels, he didn't start dating your brother just to piss you off." Remus stands and joins Sirius where he stands stuck to the floor in disbelief. He softens when Remus puts a slender arm around his shoulder and plants a kiss to his temple. Fine, Sirius thinks to himself. He really had never seen James so happy.

"They're actually quite lovely together, if you ask me," Peter sighs dreamily. Sirius shoots him a withering look.

The Gryffindor common room was alive with laughter and chatter, the fire crackling merrily in the hearth as snow flurried against the enchanted windows. It was one of those rare nights where friends, rivals, and lovers all coexisted in semi-harmony.

James Potter lounged back on the couch with a cocky smirk, his glasses slipping down his nose as he surveyed the chaos around him. His boyfriend, Regulus Black, was sitting cross-legged on the rug across from him, elegant and unruffled—at least for now. To his left, Sirius Black sprawled on his stomach, shuffling the Uno cards with unnecessary flourish, while Remus Lupin sat next to him, leaning against the couch with a cup of tea in hand, his amber eyes twinkling with quiet amusement.

“This,” Sirius announced dramatically, “is the game that will test the very core of our relationships. Bonds will be broken. Loyalties shattered. Uno is not for the faint of heart.”

“Just shuffle the bloody cards, Padfoot,” Remus drawled, taking a sip of his tea.

“I’m trying to set the mood,” Sirius grinned, but obliged, dealing out the cards.

Regulus picked up his hand with an air of meticulous precision. He arched a brow at James. “I hope you’ve been practicing. I won’t go easy on you just because we’re... involved.”

James leaned forward, his grin widening. “I wouldn’t dream of it, love.”

“Ugh,” Sirius groaned, pretending to gag. “If I have to endure any more of your sickeningly sweet nicknames, I’m calling the game off.”

“Oh, shut it,” Regulus snapped, his cheeks flushing pink. “Just play.”

The first few rounds were surprisingly tame, save for Sirius’ over-the-top commentary and James’ shameless attempts to distract Regulus with winks and eyebrow wiggles. But things quickly escalated when the infamous Draw Four cards entered the mix.

“Remus, my dear, my love, my star,” Sirius purred as he placed a Draw Four on the stack, looking unbearably smug. “I have no choice but to destroy you.”

Remus gave him a withering look and calmly drew his four cards. “I’ll remember this, Black.”

Regulus, meanwhile, was locked in a silent battle of wills with James. He narrowed his eyes as James laid down a Reverse, smugly tossing it toward the pile. “Your move, darling.”

“Don’t call me that when you’re trying to win,” Regulus grumbled, slapping down a Skip. “And don’t think I haven’t noticed your ridiculous obsession with yellows.”

“I just think it’s a superior color!” James defended, though his grin betrayed him.

The turning point came when Sirius, in a fit of unbridled chaos, dropped a Wild Card and changed the color to green just as Regulus was about to call Uno.

“This,” Regulus declared, staring at the new color with venom, “is an outrage. The heart of the cards is clearly bullshit.”

“It’s Uno, not bloody tarot cards,” Sirius cackled. “There’s no ‘heart.’ It’s just luck.”

“Luck?” Regulus hissed, standing abruptly and pointing an accusing finger at the pile of cards. “No, this is rigged! Every time I get close to winning, one of you throws some ridiculous card and—”

“It’s not that deep, Reg,” James interrupted, though his shoulders were shaking with laughter. “It’s just a game.”

Regulus shot him a glare that could have frozen the entire room. “If it’s ‘just a game,’ why do you look so smug every time you win?”

“Because I’m brilliant,” James replied, leaning back with his hands behind his head. “And you’re just mad you lost.”

“I didn’t lose,” Regulus snapped, gathering his cards with dramatic flair. “I retired from this farce of a game. Play amongst yourselves. Clearly, I was too good for it.”

He stormed off, muttering under his breath about betrayal and injustice, leaving the rest of them in stunned silence for all of three seconds before Sirius broke into laughter.

“That,” he said, wiping tears from his eyes, “was the most dramatic exit I’ve ever seen. You really know how to pick ’em, Prongs.”

James just grinned, tossing his cards onto the pile and getting up. “I’m going to go grovel. You lot keep playing.”

Remus leaned back with a soft chuckle. “You think he’ll forgive you?”

“Eventually,” James said over his shoulder, already heading toward the door. “But if he doesn’t, I’ll just let him win next time.”

“Let him win,” Sirius echoed, shaking his head. “Merlin, you’re asking for trouble.”

As the door to the common room closed behind James, Sirius looked at the cards, then at Remus. “So, Moony. Best two out of three?”

Remus smirked. “You’re on.”

some random headcanons that i've made up for you right in this moment

lily turns up to every single quidditch game and she tells herself it's to keep remus company but it's purely for dorcas. she watches the slytherin vs gryffindor games and she spends most of the time hoping dorcas wins just so she can watch her celebrate

they 100% were academic rivals. i love academic rivals and i love the idea of both of them being prefects and lily getting so frustrated that dorcas is a prefect AND on the quidditch team and she still manages to keep up with her. meanwhile dorcas is just like "huh. this random lil redhead is glaring at me. i'll glare back i guess" - dorcas 100% is the one who can keep up with lily, 100% the one who asks her questions and really facilitates academic discussions in a way i can't picture even remus doing.

RAHHH SO!!!! dorcas and lily bonding over the slytherins. they get it! they get what it's like to be friends with someone who is going down the wrong path (lily w snape, dorcas w regulus, barty, and evan) and i just love the idea of them bonding over that! maybe dorcas is the only person who agrees with lily that not all slytherins are bad but she still brings her down to earth to say "but ours are. our ones are going to do something bad."

dorcas is very cool very calm very collected until lily turns up and teases her and then she's a flustered mess. everyone makes fun of her for it because she has suchhhh a resting bitch face but lily can just wave and it fades away

lily on the other hand is alwayssss on the move, always doing something! and dorcas is the only thing that can get her to slow down

i like the idea of them driftung apart a bit after SWM, lily gives up snape and sees dorcas is still friends with the slytherins so she drifts away a bit because she's angry. she's angry and she's jealous until dorcas sees the mark one day/something Big happens and then she's turning up at gryffindor tower in the middle of the night asking what she can do - boom, ootp.

The Engagement Party

Jegulus Micro Fic

A year ago, Regulus had this mad idea of reconnecting with his older brother, who had broken with the family a decade ago. They had some good times, fought, talked, and even laughed on occasion. What he didn’t know at the time was that if one reconnected with their older brother, one was forced to attend their social gatherings.

So, now, he was standing quietly by a table, nipping on a drink, wondering when an appropriate amount of time had passed for me to leave without it looking weird.

He loved his brother Sirius, and his fiancé, Remus, was quite wonderful, truly. He just wasn’t good with the whole social thing.

Then there was the other thing. His brother had that obnoxious friend with the loud laugh and wild hair who was always part of these parties: James.

He was also set to be Sirius’s best man for the wedding – which was totally fine for Regulus! They’ve only just started speaking again and James has been in his life for, what, twenty years now? Without a ten-year break, at that. So, Regulus was totally okay with him being chosen as the best man instead. Totally.

James was holding a speech at the moment, reminiscing about childhood mischief with Sirius and how Remus brought out the best in him, bla, bla, bla. The crowd laughed with him. He told a dirty joke and smirked in that very annoying, unreasonably attractive, cocky witch's-weekly-cover way. In general, he wasn’t ugly. Everyone had dressed up for the engagement party: The girls were wearing knee-long, colourful dresses, the guys, button-ups and trousers which weren’t jeans. James had put on a red patterned waistcoat and dark trousers, which was altogether very respectable, except that the shirt underneath was too tight and the sleeves were rolled up, effectively showing off his gym-bro arms. He could probably pick Regulus up and toss him around if he wanted.

James told another joke and let his eyes roam through the room, halting near the table where he was standing. James winked. Regulus didn’t listen to the joke and had no idea what that was about. It didn’t matter anyway. He was just some pretentious idiot doing idiotic things.

James finally left the stage. Regulus checked the time on his phone. Another half hour and he could claim to be tired and go home.

“Hey,” James appeared next to me. He had the magazine-cover smirk again.

“Hello,” Regulus said.

“You didn’t laugh at my jokes.”

“You weren’t funny.”

He gasped and put a hand to his heart. “You wound me!”

Good. Regulus rolled his eyes at him.

“You look handsome today,” he said, ignoring Regulus's obvious attempt at killing the conversation.

“Same can’t be said about you. Your hair’s a mess, as always. You’re going to embarrass my brother at the altar.”

James ran a hand through his hair, making it even worse. There was no gel in it to keep it in place. It was probably soft and fluffy.

“You know? I like you, you’re funny.”

Huh? James smiled at him. Was he taking the piss? Or was he just being weird? From all he has seen so far, it could be either.

“What are you talking about?”

“You’re funny,” he insisted. “With the way you roll those pretty little eyes of yours, and so obviously fight making rude remarks to every other person you meet, except me.”

Regulus wasn't planning to start fights with all of his brother’s friends, so what? It wasn't his fault that most of his friends were utterly boring or wanted to test him by not so subtly stirring the conversation towards women's rights, people of colour, gays and trans people.

Did he just call his eyes pretty? Maybe it was another test.

James pointed at his glass. “Are you actually going to drink that or keep nipping on it like it’s broccoli juice?”

“I’m drinking.”

“Sure.” He winked at him and turned to the room. Someone else was holding a speech now, Fleamont Potter, if Regulus recognised him correctly. “I bet you’re drinking so slowly because in your mind, as soon as it’s empty at this rate, an appropriate amount of time has passed for you to leave.”

That might have been the first non-idiotic thing he had ever heard him say. Nevertheless, he prepared to deny everything.

“He won’t mind you leaving early, you know? He has told all of us that you hate crowds before we first met you, and not to read anything into it when you leave early.”

“I see. So, he wants me to leave?”

“No, not in the slightest. It’s his engagement party and he keeps looking over here. He’d rather have you at the table and talk to us.”

“Then, you want me to leave.”

James glanced at him with a smile, it was different than the obnoxious smirk from before. Dirtier, somehow. He had a dimple.

“What I want is for you to give me that glass so I can finish it, then take you out of here and back to my place, where I’ll very slowly and gently get you out of these clothes, put you on the bed and then do decidedly less gentle and slow things to you.”

Oh. Oh.

Regulus's eyes got distracted by James's neck, then his arms, down along the lines of the waistcoat.

Without further hesitation, he pushed his glass into his hands and walked away to tell his brother he'd be leaving soon.

I have notes but there's literally no context besides random shit written down and I figure it would be criminal to not share this absolute trainwreck with everyone so here it is... Tom Hiddleston as Sirius Black

Tom Hiddleston would be a good option to play Sirius Black. He has the capability of having a boyish attitude and sass that Sirius has become known for. Also, Adam. Nuff said.

Rami Malek as James Potter

Look at him. He also has the capability of coming up with that sass and attitude. Imagine him riding a broomstick in a quidditch uniform and that is all.

Robert Sheehan as Remus Lupin

This man could play all of the characters, but he is best suited for Remus Lupin. Unkempt look but in an attractive way. Looks like he could be a werewolf. A lot of the same Remus Lupin mannerisms.

Andrew Scott as Peter Pettigrew

A short little Irish man with a very good skill for acting a villain that's cunning and sneaky and that's why he would be a good option. He would be a very good actor to portray the change from friend to enemy.

Slytherin Skittles

Aidan Gallagher as Regulus Black

Aidan Gallagher has the capability to play an angsty character who's a little bit evil and a little bit good all rolled into one. He's also just got the look and the vibe that Regulus is kind of become known for.

David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr.

This is partially because when he played Barty in the 4th movie, he didn't get nearly enough screen time in my opinion but the other part of it is because, after watching lots of his filmography, I seriously can't think of anyone better to play it. Unfortunately we would need to make him like 30 years younger and we don't have a time machine.

Michael Sheen as Evan Rosier

I told you it would be chaotic. Maybe it's because I can't see David Tennant without Michael Sheen anymore after GO and Staged but he's also quite similar to Evan in my mind and I think he would play the character very well. Unfortunately... still no time machine tho.

Lisa Kudrow as Pandora Rosier

I mean I was watching Friends and she kinda just stuck out to me and that is why she is now Pandora. I think Lisa has the capability to play someone as wonderful, beautiful and quirky as Pandora. Also I think it would be so sweet and interesting to watch Michael and Lisa play siblings.

Valkyries

(I will admit and say that I don't know nearly enough about the Valkyries so my roommates were the ones that came up these)

Florence Pugh as Marlene McKinnon

I don't really think this one needs explaining but I do think she would be best to play Marlene McKinnon. She's got a fabulous look that would suit Marlene well especially with the fanart seen of her. I mean just look at her.

Nina Sosanya as Dorcas Meadowes

Nina's got the spunk and the attitude that Dorcas has. Mainly pulling from her performance in both GO1 and GO2, I think she is just the most fitting to play Dorcas and would act very well alongside David and Michael (as we've seen) but I think would act very well alongside Florence and Robert.

Emmy Raver-Lampman as Mary MacDonald

Has the capability to play a sweet character but could turn deadly and horrible in 0.5 seconds and that's stunning for her and would work very well for Mary. Also the depths from her pain and everything of her friends dying and then eventually obliviating her memory.

Scarlett Johansson as Lily Evans

Scarlett has the attitude of Lily Evans in real life and honestly she would be stunning. I could totally see James falling in love with Lily if she looked like Scarlett which is one of the main reasons we've cast her as Lily.

Now, we all think that the original fancast that is the most popular is perfect and stunning. This is just some brainrot. Anyway, that is all.

I realised how underdeveloped Dorcas is as a character and she's the loml so I came up with a few (a lot) headcanons for her

I personally headcanon her as being academic rivals with Lily and Quidditch rivals with Marlene but somehow best friends with Mary which started out because they were the only two black girls in their year and bonded over the racism and braiding each other's hair. Imo she'd have stuck to the skittles even after most of them took the Mark but then they did something she couldn't forgive (maybe to Mary's family or smth) and that's when she decided to join the Order instead of staying neutral like Pandora. She probably wanted to go into Wizarding Law or experimentation, maybe in Arithmancy or Runes. I think she was a half blood (her mother was a witch, her dad was a squib maybe) but raised in a Muggle community so her first interaction with magic outside her family was on the train with Pandora and Evan. I hc her as only child living in a joint family with three or four cousins, both younger and older but if she had a sibling, it would be a younger sister. I don't think she ever forgave Sirius even in any timeline where he and Reg reconciled because while she understood that he had valid reasons for leaving, she couldn't relate because she'd never do the same to her cousins or siblings. She masterminded every prank or plan the skittles had but no one ever thought she was involved because the teachers loved her. She would definitely be popular because she argued a lot with blood supremacist or racists or even just guys in general to defend people. She was the one who showed Reg, Barty and Evan how wrong their racist, homophobic blood supremacist families were. I think she'd be very open about her queerness and her heritage too. The only reason she never became Head Girl was because of Dumbledore's blatant favouritism of Gryffindors, even McGonagall wanted her to be the Head Girl.

She had blackmail on every single person at Hogwarts and used that to get into the Slytherin Quidditch team after they refused to let her try out because she was a girl. She and Emma Vanity became the first girls on the Slytherin Quidditch team since Eileen Prince. Thought she was ace until Emma who was her first proper crush and they became fwb but broke it off after Emmeline came into the picture. She dated both Reg and Evan while they were closeted and being pressured by their parents to date someone "suitable". She became good friends with Emmeline and Lily during a group project in either Runes or Arithmancy. This forced her and Marlene into such close proximity that they were forced to acknowledge their feelings for each other and eventually started dating after flirting with each other. If you ship Dorlily then the confession happened after one of them hit the other with a stronger spell than they were supposed to be using during DADA and they ended up being hurt. She definitely had to listen to Pandora/Mary pining about Lily before they got together. She and Remus became friends after she deduced that he was a werewolf in third year and started researching on Wolfsbane for him. Barty ran away to her house instead of Reg's or Evan's. She, Barty and Evan blew up a lot of shit because of their experimentation. She and Reg read a lot of Muggle literature which she introduced to him and frequently had debates about it. Muggle literature was one of the things that finally got through to Regulus and showed him how wrong blood supremacy was. Dorcas took Divination to understand Pandora better despite thinking that the subject was bullshit. She defended all of the skittles because people kept taunting them. She was the one who taught Barty, Evan and Pandora how to fight the "Muggle way". She was Mary's gay awakening but Mary never had an actual crush on her. She was definitely a hatstall between Slytherin and Ravenclaw.

wow, I love how detailed your version of Dorcas is....I feel like a lot of people struggle to characterize her, so this is really cool to read! I love the idea of her being friends with people from so many houses, too.

Before Sirius and Regulus fixed their relationship, I know Remus HATED Regulus, but solely because of how upset Sirius got at the mere mention of anything Regulus.

It takes Remus a while to stop disliking Regulus. Maybe Sirius already forgave him, but Regulus is still a bit mean to Sirius and the older Black Brother still cries himself to sleep over his mistakes. Seeing his partner in such an emotional state every night makes it hard for Remus to instantly forgive and befriend Regulus.

After a few months, and many discussions about their shared interests in literature, Remus slowly starts to like the younger Black Brother, and eventually becomes his best friend.

My new favourite headcannon is Regulus and Lily being good friends, bonding over the fact they’re both younger siblings and feel hated and abandoned by their siblings. Lily is always trying to make Regulus see that Sirius is nothing like her sister and that he cares for him and she keeps on telling Sirius to fight for his brother.

She knows that Sirius is nothing like her sister until the prank. For the first time she thinks, she might have been wrong.
